Despite a constant flow of unboxings and plastic, not a lot of games end up finished here at Channel Gaming, at least not any new ones, anyway. So rather than a best of 2017, here we have five games which were kind of fun to play. I kind of like this idea, don’t you? And also, these five games are all kind of Nintendo releases… kind of.
A new console from Nintendo means new gimmicks to play around with, and what better way to experience all the ‘new’ than with a mini-game compilation showcasing all these features? The Wii had Wii Sports as a pack-in to bring forth the future that was motion control, the Wii U had Nintendo Land as a pack-in to sell (at least try to) asymmetrical gaming, and now 1-2-Switch is set to do the same for the Switch. The Nintendo Switch is the latest from Nintendo, coming only four years after the Wii U, and this time offering a concept everyone can get behind. Play it at home, play it on the go, it’s the Switch! Much better than play some games with a tablet controller you can’t take out of the room, or even your old Wiimotes, it’s the um… Wii… U, a new console, really! I love my U, but that’s how it goes, and so, it’s time to switch things up with clear goals and no more lows. Continue reading
Before the release of the Nintendo Switch on the 3rd March 2017, Nintendo decided to take a few units and wheel them around the United Kingdom. Birmingham, Manchester, and London were the choice locations, and with a few dates, a few bookings, people could taste the Switch experience, though not the cartridges. Sure this would have been a great piece to post before the Switch launch, but sometimes people (me) just have a thing for being a little (very) late. Continue reading
